Welcome to the Resonances website!

The Resonances Festival is an annual international chamber music festival set in Brabant Wallon, Belgium.  The first Resonances Festival took place in May 2010 and we were thrilled by the overwhelmingly positive response received at each concert. There were some extraordinary performances and the exciting musical meetings between the musicians were an inspiration. The children of Brabant Wallon are present throughout the festival, not only at the childrens’ concert,  but also through their amazing paintings which are on display at all the concerts. I want to give huge thanks to all the sponsors & volunteers who make Resonances Festival a success!

Now, we are looking forward to Resonances 2012!

A very exciting group of well-known international soloists and chamber musicians of high acclaim will come together again  for a week in the beautiful Château de Halloy near Ciney where they will rehearse and prepare for the four festival concerts. The chance to spend a week of intense music making with familiar as well as totally new musical partners is a rarity in these busy times. Most musicians relish the chance to get together to study the riches of the chamber music repertoire, and to perform together. We hope that the musical inspiration drawn from these ‘rencontres musicales’ in this intimate Belgian setting will radiate in the concerts and resonate through Brabant Wallon.

For the first time at Resonances, we invite the audience to a very special concert at the Château de Halloy, where all the musicians live and rehearse for the week of the festival. This concert in a  beautiful part of Belgium will have three parts and could be an ideal family-outing for a sunday afternoon in the spring!

The festival concerts will take place on the 3rd, 4th, 5th & 6th May 2012, in Eglise de La Hulpe, in the atmospheric Ferme Eglise de Froidmont à Rixensart, in Ottignies at Grange du Douaire and at Château de Halloy near Ciney.
We very much hope to raise again enough money for the festival to be able to donate a considerate amount of money to charity, like in the previous years. This year we will support The Belgian Kids Fund.

The audience will be invited to witness this exciting melting pot and to share in the joy of great music.

I look forward to seeing you in May 2012!
